Description

Unit 1, Automotive Vehicle Workshop Environment Studies: Housekeeping, Working relationships, Safe working practices, Statutory regulations and Accident and emergency procedures. Unit 2, Remove and Refit Components: Tools, equipment and materials, Layout and operating principles of vehicle systems, Remove and refit system components and Evaluate system performance. Unit 3, Fault Diagnosis: Identify, access and select information, Tools and equipment, Diagnose system and components faults and Recognise diagnostic results, make appropriate recommendations.

Entry Requirements
You will need at least 4 Grade D GCSEs or above or the City and Guilds Progression Award at Level 1 in Automotive Vehicle Servicing and Repair or an equivalent Level 1 Motor Vehicle qualification
Progression

Employment as a Foundation Modern Apprentice and evidence for a Level 2 NVQ and then possibly an Advanced Modern Apprenticeship. The course also provides Key Skills in IT, Communication and Numeracy. These are the other main elements of the Modern Apprenticeship framework. The course will therefore allow you to transfer to a Modern Apprenticeship at any time.
